Dental bonding is a popular and common treatment option for patients who have gaps between their teeth, chips in their teeth, cracked teeth, decaying teeth or even patients who have exposed roots caused by other dental conditions.
Dental bonding is a popular and common treatment option for patients who have gaps between their teeth, chips in their teeth, cracked teeth, decaying teeth or even patients who have exposed roots caused by other dental conditions. The dental bonding is made from a composite resin material that is strong and can be molded to look and feel like your natural teeth. It is not an appliance like a dental bridge or a dental implant, but it is a substance that can be added and shaped to restore the look and function of your teeth with ease.
The team at Burch Dental has a simple goal. That is to ensure your trust through our commitment to quality treatment and your continued satisfaction. It is our daily agenda to maintain a caring environment that is respectful and comfortable for everyone. Our team members are united in our efforts to promote oral health by means of prevention, enhancement, wellness, and rejuvenation. Call or visit one of our convenient locations today to schedule your appointment for an evaluation regarding dental bonding.
Dental Bonding Benefits for You
There are many benefits to having dental bonding applied to your teeth. One benefit is that it will instantly improve the look of your teeth and smile. This will come as a great relief if you struggle with cracked or chipped teeth and cannot wait to get your teeth repaired. Another benefit is that the bonding can also strengthen the tooth overall. When teeth are cracked, they are more susceptible to bacteria, infection, and further damage.
Restoring the natural shape of a cracked or chipped tooth means that some of the strength can be restored as well. Another benefit of dental bonding is that it is instant and immediate. Most dental bonding treatments can be completed in one visit with the team at Burch Dental, meaning you do not need to walk around with chipped or cracked teeth any longer. You can have your dental bonding touched up at future dental visits if you notice the bonding is wearing away, or if it needs to be replaced.
The Dental Bonding Procedure
Dental bonding is easy and fast. The tooth that needs to be repaired will be cleaned and dried. Our team at Burch Dental will apply cleansers and adhesives to prepare the tooth to receive and accept the dental bonding.
This prep work allows for the bonding to attach to the existing tooth surface. The bonding resin is made up of several components, including a glue-like substance that adheres the resin to the surface of the tooth. We can apply it in layers until the desired thickness is achieved. We can sculpt and shape the resin to cover cracks, straighten chips and to close gaps between two teeth.
The resin compound can be colored to match the shade of your surrounding teeth, and then the resin is set using a special light that will harden the compound quickly and easily. Your dental bonding on your repaired tooth will be cleaned and polished and adjusted to fit your bite alignment and your smile. The entire process usually takes 1-2 hours, depending on the number of teeth that need to be bonded and the severity of the damage to the tooth or teeth.
